# Mishe SMS

> Mishe SMS is a bulk SMS and SMS gateway service in Tanzania. Businesses, institutions, churches, schools and organizations use it to send bulk SMS, OTP verification codes and notifications to customers and members, from an online dashboard or through a REST API, with a custom sender name and a delivery report for every message. Prices start at TSh 20 per SMS and fall to TSh 12 per SMS with volume.

## What it does

- Bulk SMS: send one message or thousands at once to contact lists and groups, for marketing, announcements, reminders and alerts.
- OTP verification: one-time codes for sign-up, login and payments (codes are valid for up to 30 minutes).
- Transactional SMS: order updates, payment confirmations, appointment and event reminders.
- Custom sender name: messages arrive under the customer's own name (up to 11 characters, e.g. a business or church name), after approval.
- Scheduled messages: pick a date and time and the SMS goes out then.
- Delivery reports: every message shows whether it was sent, delivered or failed; the status updates about every 30 seconds.
- Contacts and groups: import, organize and reuse contact lists.
- SMS API: a JSON REST API with bearer-token (API key) authentication, bulk and scheduled sending, delivery status and webhooks.
- Reaches every mobile phone, including basic phones, with no internet or app needed on the receiver's side.
